Due to limited water this season, all parciantes should be prepared for the commission to prioritize water usage based on our By Laws
Jump to a question:
Water will be prioritized when the ditches are running low. Prioritization is at the discretion of the Mayordomo. The following will be considered -
Have ditch dues been paid?
Did the Parciante receive water the previous week and what is their acreage?
How is the water being used? In times of extreme drought, the Mayordomo in consultation with the Commissioners will distribute the available water supply according to the following priorities: (1) vegetable gardens, (2) fruit bearing trees, (3) livestock, and (4) pasture lands.
Please review the Bylaws for additional clarification.
These are processed after the annual ditch cleaning so that cleaning credits can be applied. The Parciante bill will be provided by the end of June.
Payment should be made by the end of July. At this time the Mayordomo will be provided a list of delinquent Parciante payments.
You may complete the Parciante Update Form or email desmontesditchassociation@gmail.com.
There is a ditch cleaning fee reduction when you turn 72. Please notify the treasurer and provide your drivers license for verification.
You can also sign up to be part of a committee where your efforts will be recognized with credits towards your dues.
Notices will be posted in the newspaper, the Arroyo Seco Post Office, along with a mass email reminder from the DMDA secretary.
The Annual Meeting generally will happen in January and Ditch Cleaning generally will happen in April.
A copy of the Bylaws can be viewed on the Resources page here on the website, email us at desmontesditchassociation@gmail.com, or visit our next Annual Meeting for a copy.
